Korean Royal Procession Reenacted in N.Y.

A traditional Korean royal procession has been reenacted in the trendy Manhattan district of New York.

The event was organized by a Korean-American association in New York and led by a traditional Korean military band. The 27th Korean Parade marched from 41st Street to 24th Street along Broadway.

This is the first time for a traditional Korean royal protocol ceremony to be staged abroad.

The Korean-American association said it will introduce in next year's parade a replica of the turtle-shaped war vessel used by the legendary Korean Admiral Yi Sun-shin, who repelled a Japanese invasion in the 16th century.
