The Jeju provincial government is pushing to enact a special law that will designate the southern resort island as an international free city.
The government formed a task force under the prime minister's office Wednesday to seek the legislation.
The Jeju Province Governor said a special bill will be submitted to the National Assembly in mid-October after consultations with related government offices.
