Gov't Panel Formed on Implementing S-N Summit Accords

A pan-governmental special committee on implementing the inter-Korean summit agreements held its inaugural meeting at the presidential office on Friday.

President Roh Moo-hyun chaired the first meeting of the 18-member committee to be headed by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, and comprising Cabinet ministers, the president's chief of staff and the national intelligence chief.

In addition, the committee set up several subcommittees on such areas as inter-Korean economic cooperation and organizing ministerial talks.

It also decided to form other bodies to discuss specific issues as necessary, after consultation with North Korea.
