Gov't to Inspect Mt. Geumgang

The government has decided to conduct an inspection of the North’s Mount Geumgang resort following a bridge collapse there that injured 20 South Korean tourists.

The Unification Ministry said that ministries concerned would form a joint team to carry out the annual inspection next month, a month earlier than usual.

The team comprises more than ten members from the Ministry of Unification, the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Prime Minister’s office.

They will carry out a general inspection of the resort area, focusing on sanitation and safety.
