Some 30 NK Defectors Likely to Settle in US

The U.S. will soon accept more than 30 North Korean defectors from Thailand.

Radio Free Asia quoted humanitarian aid workers helping North Korean escapees as saying that Washington has completed identity checks on 24 of them and collected fingerprints of eight others.

According to the humanitarian workers, only the 32 are seeking asylum in the U.S., citing long wait times and the belief that the U.S. will not accept more defectors as discouraging factors.
