The company said Monday that Korean Air (KAL) will curtail its international flights, especially those to America, due to financial difficulties after the terrorist attacks on the United States.
KAL will suspend flights on its Incheon-Dallas-Atlanta and Incheon-Chicago-New York (Newark) routes by mid-December.
Flights on the Incheon-Los Angeles-Sao Paulo route will be suspended too.
As for flights on the Incheon-Tokyo-Los Angeles route operated daily by KAL, the company will operate the flights only to Tokyo on Mondays and Wednesdays. It has also decided to curtail the Incheon-Hawaii route from seven times to four times a week, and the Incheon-Washington route from three times weekly to two times.
But the company will increase direct flights linking Incheon and Chicago from three times to four times weekly to replace the Incheon-Chicago-New York route.
In addition, the company decided to change flights on its Zurich-Amsterdam-Incheon service to a direct route linking Zurich
and Incheon and cut back on Incheon-Hong Kong flights to four times a week, and the Incheon-Frankfurt route to once a week.
