Most Experts Positive over Inter-Korean Summit

A recent poll suggests that the majority of economic experts are positive over the results of the inter-Korean summit early this month, citing eased tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The state-run Korea Development Institute said Sunday that its survey of 378 economists and financial experts showed that 73 percent are positive about inter-Korean economic projects agreed at the summit.

More than 56 percent said the projects will help ease tension on the Korean Peninsula.

On the most promising projects, 36 percent cited the establishment of a "peace zone" on the west coast.

Most also said the success of bilateral economic cooperation depends on how sincere North Korea is in carrying out the projects.
