Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung says the media should play a central role in establishing a structured peace on the Korean Peninsula following this month's inter-Korean summit declaration.

In a keynote speech at a forum on the media's post-summit role, Lee said the media should promote peace and integration through fact-based reporting.

He stressed that sticking to the facts, presenting policy alternatives and inter-Korean media exchanges are key to implementing the summit accords.
