Hill: NK to Submit Early List of Nuke Programs Soon

Top U.S. nuclear envoy Christopher Hill says North Korea is likely to submit a draft list of its nuclear programs within two weeks.

Hill told the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday that Washington wants to start the declaration process immediately as the early list may fall short of expectations.

Hill stressed that Pyongyang’s declaration must accurately describe any uranium enrichment activities and weapons-grade plutonium, adding that the U.S. will verify such activities and materials.

The top negotiator also said Washington and Pyongyang will hold working-level talks in the next couple of weeks to address the North’s illicit financial activities, including counterfeiting.

Hill is scheduled to visit Beijing on Monday for additional talks with the six-party talks' participants.
