Hyundai Chairwoman to Visit NK Tuesday

Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun will visit North Korea Tuesday to discuss inter-Korean economic projects.

According to Hyundai, Hyun will leave Incheon Tuesday morning and fly to Pyongyang via Beijing.

She will meet with North Korean officials to discuss economic projects proposed during the recent inter-Korean summit. They include the opening of a direct air route to Mount Baekdu, expanding tour sites at Mount Geumgang and opening tours to the North's border city of Gaesong.

They will also discuss speeding up the second-stage construction of the Gaesong Industrial complex.

During her five-day stay in the North, she will visit Mount Baekdu, the tallest mountain on the Korean Peninsula.

Hyundai says it is not known whether Hyun will meet with the North leader Kim Jong-il.
