North Korea has presented a detailed list of economic and energy aid goods it wants in return for fulfilling its disarmament pledges.
A government official told reporters that the North’s list included equipment and materials such as steel goods for power facility repairs.
The North presented its wantlist during a two-day working-level meeting at the border truce village of Panmunjeom that opened Monday. The talks are being held as part of the six-nation dialogue on the North Korean nuclear issue.
The official said that experts from the parties concerned were holding two meetings concurrently on the aid wantlist and other issues.
Meanwhile, Lim Sung-nam, chief South Korean delegate to the working-level meeting, noted that Pyongyang expected the other five parties to provide the agreed economicand energy aid in a timely manner. The North says it will begin disabling key facilities at its main nuclear complex in Yongbyon on Thursday.
