The U.S. government will offer medical aid to North Korea.

According to Radio Free Asia (RFA), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will offer energy equipment including power generators to North Korean medical facilities starting in mid-November.

USAID, a government agency which administers Washington's economic and humanitarian aid efforts around the world, will provide medical assistance in cooperation with international relief organizations like the Eugene Bell Foundation, Mercy Corps and Samaritan’s Purse.

RFA reported that USAID officials and humanitarian workers will visit the North in the middle of next month for the mission.

The medical aid will be provided separately from energy aid promised in a series of six-party denuclearization agreements.
