The Culture and Tourism Ministry has held a promotional event in New York under the theme of “Korea, Sparkling."

The event was held at the Marriott Hotel in Times Square on Monday. It was attended by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, U.N. ambassadors and some 300 of the city's cultural and political leaders.

The participants enjoyed a musical concert and fashion show of Korean traditional clothing known as hanbok.

Also, a team of Korean break dancers, Drifters Crew, held a performance in which they demonstrated traditional and modern moves.

The ministry called the event a meaningful occasion to promote the nation's image and culture on the sidelines of this year’s U.N. General Assembly.
