South Koreans visiting an inter-Korean mountain resort in North Korea will soon be able to drive their cars and use cell phones at the site.

Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung said Wednesday that private car and mobile phone use at the Mount Geumgang resort will soon be possible but stopped short of elaborating.

Hyundai Asan is known to have talked with North Korea on phone service and on allowing visitors to drive their cars to the scenic mountain.

On the proposed inter-Korean special zone in the West Sea, the unification minister said the project built on peace and economic development will bring historic changes.
