South and North Korea will hold prime ministers’ talks Wednesday in Seoul.
South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his North Korean counterpart Kim Yong-il will hold talks for three days to discuss various inter-Korean issues.
The North’s seven-member delegation will arrive at Gimpo Airport Wednesday morning.
During three rounds of preliminary meetings for the talks, the two sides agreed to discuss establishing a peace and cooperation zone near the West Sea area, inter-Korean shipbuilding projects, and repairing roads and railways in the North.
The main topics for the three-day talks also include improving the Gaesong Industrial Complex, joint efforts to develop underground resources and cooperation on environmental protection and agricultural and health sectors.
The inter-Korean prime ministers' talks, the first since 1992, are expected to help realize peace on the Korean Peninsula and enhance South-North relations.
