Koreas Agree on W. Sea Zone Body

On the second day of prime ministers' talks in Seoul, the two Koreas agreed to launch a joint body to establish a special West Sea zone for peace and cooperation.

The two sides also agreed Thursday to begin regular freight train service on the cross-border Gyeongui Railway between South Korea's Munsan and North Korea's Bongdong within the year.

In an interim briefing on the talks, Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Nam-sik also noted an agreement on a joint body for social and cultural exchanges.

He added that it hasn't been decided how many subcommittees the West Sea cooperation body will have and when railway transports wil begin.

Kim said also that Pyongyang's top priority, renovating North Korean railways and roads, is still under discussion.

The South and North Korean delegations visited the National Museum of Korea on Thursday afternoon.
