Hyundai Asan will jointly organize from Saturday a ceremony celebrating the ninth anniversary of the Mount Geumgang tour program.

Some one hundred-fifty figures from the two Koreas, including Hyundai Asan President Yoon Man-jun and renowned cellist Chung Myung-hwa, will attend the three-day celebrations in the communist state's scenic mountain resort.

The event will include celebratory parties, acrobatic performances, and commemorative tree planting.

As part of such celebrations, tourists visiting the mountain resort next week will enjoy many discounts.

Since its launching on November 18th, 1998, the Mount Geumgang tour program has attracted more than one-point-seven million visitors, including 310-thousand tourists this year alone. That is the highest annual record for the number of visitors.
