Two Koreas Prep. for Defense Chiefs' Talks

The two Koreas will hold working-level talks this week to prepare for an inter-Korean defense chiefs' meeting later this month.

This week's talks will cover delegation size and agenda for the defense chiefs' talks to be held November 27th.

A South Korean defense official said last week's inter-Korean prime ministerial meeting set the boundaries for the defense ministers' talks.

Details will be discussed through liaison officers in face-to-face contacts or direct phone links.

The official said the easing of military tension between the two Koreas will top the agenda.
He added that the defense chiefs will also discuss humanitarian aid to the North and military support for economic cooperation projects.

He hoped the two Koreas will agree on boundaries of a joint fishing zone at next week's meeting with the North’s sincere participation.
