PM Han Leaves for Paris to Attend BIE General Assembly

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has left for Paris Friday to attend the 142nd General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau.

Han will attend the general assembly that will open on Monday and seek to rally last-minute support for Yeosu’s bid to host the 2012 World Expo.

Yeosu, a port city about four-hundred-50 kilometers south of Seoul, is competing with Tangiers of Morocco and Wroclaw of Poland to host the international event.

The Bureau will select the host city for the 2012 event during the general assembly meeting early Tuesday, Korean time. If successful, Yeosu will host the expo for three months, beginning May 12.
