The two Koreas will play against each other in the 2010 South Africa World Cup preliminaries for the first time in 15 years.
According to the World Cup draw, which was held in Durban, South Africa, on Sunday, North and South Korea, Jordan, and Turkmenistan will play against each other in group three for the qualifying seats.
This is the third time the North and South have played against each other in the World Cup preliminaries. Their last face-off was in 1993.
South Korea has shown better performance against the North so far, with five wins, three ties, and one loss in the past.
In the third-round of Asian qualifiers, 20 countries are divided into five groups, and the first and second place teams of each group will head to the final preliminaries.
The Australians, who moved to the Asian qualifiers for the first time in hopes of winning a better chance of entering the Cup, have landed themselves with China, Iraq, and Qatar in group one.
Japan will play in group two with Bahrain, Oman, and Thailand, while Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, and Singapore will meet in group four.
The final group consists of Iran, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Syria.
