Two Koreas Continue Defense Ministers' Talks

On the second day of inter-Korean defense ministers' talks on Wednesday, South and North Korean officials tried to narrow differences on key agendas including establishing a joint fishing zone off the west coast.

Working-level officials from the two sides exchanged their drafts of an agreement and went into recess to review them.

The two sides will continue their contacts based on the draft agreements to narrow differences on a variety of issues, including a military safety guarantee for inter-Korean business cooperation projects and ways to build mutual military trust.

South Korean Defense Minister Kim Jang-soo expressed hope that the two sides will narrow differences before he returns to Seoul on Thursday.
