S-N Red Cross Talks Enter 2nd Day

Red Cross officials of the two Koreas will continue discussions for a second day at North Korea’s Mount Geumgang on Thursday.

On the first day of talks Wednesday, the two sides agreed on expanding the frequency of family reunions in line with the completion of a permanent family reunion center next March.

However, the two sides failed to narrow differences over how frequently reunions will be allowed.

The South’s delegation urged for the swift resolution of the issue of South Korean prisoners of war and abductees suspected of being held in the communist state.

The two Koreas will wrap up the talks Friday.

Meanwhile, working-level talks on the repair of a highway linking Gaesong and Pyongyang will be held for the second day Thursday in the North's border city of Gaesong.

The two sides are discussing a timetable for onsite inspection as well as the scope of the repair project.
