Senior NK Official returns to Pyongyang

A senior North Korean official in charge of inter-Korean relations will return to Pyongyang after wrapping up his three-day visit.

On his last day of stay Saturday, Kim Yang-gon, the director of the United Front Department of the North's ruling Workers' Party, talked with leaders from cultural, academic and religious sectors. Also, he had breakfast with his former South Korean counterparts from the first inter-Korean talks in 2000.

Arriving on Thursday, the North Korean official visited a free economic zone under construction in Songdo, Incheon. He also visited a shipyard in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province and the Busan Main Customs.

On Friday afternoon, Kim paid a visit to President Roh Moo-hyun at Cheong Wa Dae.
