‘Progress in Diplomatic Front Possible After Denuclearization’

A pro-Pyongyang daily in Japan says U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill has arrived in the North Korean capital.

The Choson Sinbo reported that Hill landed at Pyongyang’s Sunan Airport on Monday morning.

The report said the top nuclear envoy told reporters he and his North Korean counterpart Kim Kye-kwan would discuss their countries' respective obligations.

Hill added that progress on the diplomatic front would follow the North’s denuclearization.

The paper also noted its previous report that Pyongyang was carrying out its obligations to disable its nuclear facilities by year’s end in line with the most recent six-party nuclear accord reached in October.
