Gov't Announces Standard Recipes for Korean Foods

The government has announced standard recipes for 100 Korean foods that foreigners like.

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the recipes at a ceremony in southern Seoul on Monday.

The recipes include those for samgyetang, or whole chicken stuffed with ginseng and rice, and bibimbap, mixed vegetables and meat over rice with hot sauce.

The recipes standardize rather vague explanations of ways to cook traditional Korean food, adopting international measurements.

The ministry plans to publish the recipes in English, Japanese and Chinese to distribute them to Korea's diplomatic and cultural missions overseas.
