South Korean poet Shin Kyeong-nim has won a prestigious Swedish literary award, the Cicada Prize, for 2007.

The 72-year old poet is the second South Korean to receive the award after fellow poet Ko Un won last year.

The award was established in 2004 to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Swedish poet Harry Martinson, a Nobel Laureate in literature.

The Cicada Prize is awarded to poets who were either born in or write about East Asia.
