The inter-Korean economic cooperation committee will convene for a second day of talks in Seoul Wednesday.
On the first day of discussions Tuesday, the South’s delegation proposed adopting and supporting an export industry for the North based on factors of production in which Pyongyang has a comparative advantage.
The South also urged a resolution within the year on passage, communication and customs clearance regarding the Gaesong Industrial Complex in order to promote activity in the industrial park.
The North’s delegation, for its part, sought the establishment of a committee on economic cooperation regulations, in addition to forming a committee for cooperation on resource development, which was proposed by the South.
The delegations of the two sides will tour a factory of Kia Motors in Gyeonggi Province Wednesday.
The two Koreas will hold a full session Thursday and later announce the results of their discussions.
