North Korea has asked the World Food Program for more food aid after the U.N. agency recently finished emergency aid shipments to the country's flood victims.

In an interview with Voice of America on Wednesday, WFP Asia spokesman Paul Risley mentioned Pyongyang's additional aid request. He said his agency will inspect the North's flooded areas next month before deciding.

Risley said that two on-site surveys conducted by the WFP Pyongyang office found that most food ration stations had no reserves other than what his agency had sent.
