The two Koreas will announce a joint statement on their third day of inter-Korean economic cooperation talks held in Seoul.
The two sides are said to have fine-tuned the wording of the statement early Thursday morning.
The points of agreement, which were discussed since Wednesday morning, are said to include agreements to open subcommittees by the end of this month on ship-building, the Gaesong Industrial Complex, farming and fisheries, and public health.
However, the sides are said to have not reached an agreement on transportation, communication, and customs issues related to Gaesong Industrial Complex operations.
The North is also reported to have not shown much interest in nurturing areas with stronger competitiveness than the South for expanding exports, as Seoul proposed.
The joint statement will likely be announced Thursday morning, and the North Korean delegation is scheduled to return in the afternoon.
