Speed skater Lee Kang-seok has won his first gold medal of the season in the men's 500-meters at the ISU World Cup in The Netherlands.

At the second Division A race, Lee edged Japanese rival George Kato for the win. Lee has raised his World Cup score to 430, first among the men.

Four other Korean speed skaters finished in the event's top ten, solidifying Korea's status as a speed skating powerhouse.
