A survey finds that Koreans are sharply divided over whether the next administration should respect agreements reached at the October inter-Korean summit and recent prime ministers' talks.
According to the result of a poll by the National Unification Advisory Council, 44.6 percent of the respondents said the next administration should abide by the agreements, while 44.2 percent said it should renegotiate the agreements.
Asked how they view the South Korean government's aid to North Korea, 48.5 percent said they think it is "unilateral assistance," while another 46.5 percent said it is the "price for peace."
Nearly 55 percent of the respondents expected inter-Korean relations to improve next year, whereas 41.5 percent projected no changes or slight aggravation.
