1,500-Year-Old Skull with Earring Found

Archaeologists have dug up a 15-hundred-year-old skull with an earring from an ancient tomb in South Gyeongsang Province.

The Gaya National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage said Thursday that the skull had an
earring two centimeters in diameter. The skull was found in one of ten newly found tombs of the Gaya Kingdom.

The institute said that while most of the relics had been stolen by grave robbers, some ornaments and artifacts including pieces of a golden crown and a golden ring were found. Institute officials said that such items suggest it was a royal tomb.
