Commuter Train to Gaesong to Open

A commuter train to an industrial complex in North Korea will operate on the inter-Korean Gyeongui railway from next year.

Construction will also begin in next year's first half of a 15-thousand bed lodging center for North Korean workers to enable timely staff supply to the complex, which is in the border city of Gaesong.

The Unification Ministry in Seoul says the two Koreas adopted last week a seven-point agreement and an auxilitary accord during two days of talks in Gaesong.

They also discussed details of improving passage, communications and customs clearance at the complex as agreed in earlier inter-Korean prime ministerial and business talks.

The passage hours to and from the complex have been expanded to 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
