Korean cable TV services will no longer carry programming provided by American Forces Network (AFN) from the middle of next year.

The Korean Broadcasting Commission said that it decided to accept the AFN’s request to ban Korean cable service providers from airing programs of American Forces Network Korea.

Korean cable companies will be prohibited from airing AFN broadcasts from next June.

AFN made the demand in late June this year. It said the re-airing of AFN programs on Korean cable TV violates copyright agreements, as programming is provided by American production companies.
