On Tuesday South and North Korea will hold the first meeting on inter-Korean shipbuilding and maritime cooperation as agreed in their prime ministers' meeting and the joint committee meeting on economic cooperation.

In the four-day meeting in Busan, the two sides will hold practical discussions on the joint shipyard plan based on the results of on-site inspections of potential sites for the proposed shipyard.

The two sides will also discuss the use of a direct sea route to Haeju by North Korean civilian ships and other maritime cooperation issues.
