Churches across the country celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ with Christmas services and events.

Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jin-suk of the Seoul metropolitan archdiocese led a Christmas mass at the Myeongdong Cathedral. During the mass, he urged people of the divided nation to come together to realize peace.

He also stressed that the president-elect must become a sincere leader who takes care of the young, the old, and other struggling members of society such as foreign workers.

Large and small churches carried out special worship services to celebrate Christmas across the nation.
