'Gov't Not Seeking Seoul Visit by NK Assembly Chief'

Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung says the government is not seeking a visit to Seoul by North Korean parliamentary leader Kim Yong-nam, nor does it plan to do so.

Also on Wednesday, the minister said the next administration will be briefed in detail on last October's inter-Korean summit and the prime ministerial talks held in December.

Lee said North Korea can create growth momentum in the South, stressing the importance of economic cooperation and maintaining peace between the two Koreas.

He said consistency in policy is most important for inter-Korean ties, along with the need to respect cross-border agreements. The unification minister added that implementing such accords is key to building mutual trust and peace.
