Officials said Tuesday the government has decided to draw up a comprehensive strategy to combat potential biochemical terrorism.
In a cabinet meeting held Tuesday afternoon, President Kim Dae-jung, Prime Minister Lee Han-dong and other cabinet members agreed that there exists sufficient reason to take steps to guard against such a threat in the wake of the anthrax attacks in the United States.
The cabinet meeting decided to convene a working-level meeting Wednesday of officials from health and welfare, defense, government administration and home affairs, information and communication and science and technology ministries, to be joined by the National Emergency Planning Board and the National Intelligence Agency officials.
