The Seoul metropolitan government said Wednesday it would launch an international economic advisory group next month to help its plan to turn the city into a "business hub" in Northeast Asia.
Officials said the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC) comprised of CEOs of renowned foreign firms will be launched November 2nd.
Officials said SIBAC members include American International Group, Inc. (AIG) Chairman M.R. Greenberg, Korea Society Chairman Donald Gregg, 4Kids Entertainment Chairman Alfred R. Kahn and HSBC Chairman David Eldon.
City Hall said advisors to the SIBAC include Jeffrey Jones, president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Seoul and Ronald Anderson Chairman and CEO of AIG Japan & Korea.
The foreign business leaders will advise City Hall mainly in connection with its plan to build what officials call the "Digital Media City (DMC)" in western Seoul.
Officials said they will also help Seoul's foreign investment attraction campaign.
