Zoo to Conduct Record Animal Exchange

A Korean zoo will conduct the world's largest animal exchange with a Thai counterpart.

Seoul Grand Park will send 189 animals spanning 33 species, including European bison and lions, to Thailand by June. In return, the zoo will receive 184 rare animals spanning 37 species from a counterpart in the Southeast Asian country.

The animals slated for exchange from Thailand include a Nile crocodile, green anaconda, mongoose and a chameleon.

The two zoos decided on the exchange under an agreement for the preservation of endangered animals reached in March last year.
