Three South Korean Navy ships will make a port call in China next week ... for the first time in history.
The three thousand-800-ton destroyer Ulchimundok and two other Navy vessels with about one hundred-60 Navy cadets and some 800 sailors aboard ... will leave the southern Navy port of Chinhae next Monday and arrive in Shanghai on Wednesday.
During the visit, the two countries will conduct joint exercises.
The fleet will also visit about 10 Southeast Asian countries before arriving home next January.
Military exchanges between the two countries have improved steadily after the defense ministers of the two countries visited each other's country last year.
