In business news ... Hyundai Motor is reportedly eyeing Alabama as a likely location for its first U.S. plant.
Friday's Maeil Business Newspaper citing an unnamed Hyundai Motor official said the automaker plans to select the site for its U.S. plant by year end ... with construction slated to begin next year.
Hyundai Motor's President has recently visited the United States for talks with U.S. government officials.
The trip came soon after brisk sales in the United States led Hyundai to project this year's U.S. exports to surpass the previous target of 320-thousand vehicles ... which was already a 10 percent rise from last year.
The reports said Hyundai Motor plans to spend around one billion dollars to build the plant which could produce between 150-thousand and 300-thousand vehicles a year beginning in two-thousand-five.
