UN Rapporteur on NK Human Rights to Visit Seoul

The Foreign Ministry says the U.N. special rapporteur on North Korean human rights will arrive here Saturday to collect information and data for his annual report.

U.N. Special Rapporteur Vitit Muntarbhorn plans to meet with senior foreign and unification ministry officials during his six-day trip.

A Foreign Ministry official said Friday that Muntarbhorn will include the results of his trip in his report on North Korean human rights. The report will be submitted to the U.N. Human Rights Council and the U.N. General Assembly.

The visit that begins Saturday would mark his third trip to Seoul in his current capacity. He had previously visited in 2005 and 2007.
