N. Korea expected to have average harvest: gov't official

A ranking government official said Saturday North Korea's rice harvest for this year is expected be around average.
The official, who wished to remain anonymous. said that the lack of any typhoon damage in the summer reduced seasonal losses caused by flooding and harmful insects. He explained the sunny conditions from July to August also contributed to a good yield.
He said that the country usually produced 3 million tons of rice per year.
