Record Numbers to Spend Lunar New Year's O'seas

The number of Koreans spending their Lunar New Year's holiday abroad will hit an all-time high next month.

Travel agency Hana Tour said that as of Monday, nearly 23-thousand people had booked overseas trips during the upcoming long holiday. That's up more than 80 percent from last year.

The agency forecast that the number of reservations for overseas trips will reach 30,000 by the end of the month.

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines said that tickets to China, Southeast Asia and Japan were already sold out. They said flights leaving for the U.S. and Europe on February first and second are also fully booked.
