The New York Times has given high marks to Korean dance performances at a showcase in Brooklyn.

In a review published Monday, the U.S. daily introduced Korean dancers and choreographers Kim MaeJa and Yoon SuMee as highlights of the Cool New York Festival 2008.

In particular, the newspaper praised Yoon’s ritualistic “No Man’s District” as a seamless mixture of the traditional and modern.

The nine-day showcase of modern dance opened Friday.
