'NK Leader Remains Unchanged on Nuke Deal'

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il reportedly has stressed there's no change in his country's stance on a stalled six-way nuclear accord.

According to China’s Xinhua News Agency Thursday, Kim discussed the nuclear issue with Wang Jiarui, the head of the international department of China's Communist Party, in Pyongyang.

Kim told Wang and his delegation that the six-party countries should fulfill their end of the bargain.

But the reclusive leader was quick to add Pyongyang was willing to work with its ally Beijing to push for full implementation of the nuclear deal.

Kim’s remarks came as U.S. State Department official Sung Kim prepares to visit North Korea later this week to jumpstart the six-party talks.
