North Korea has condemned the U.S. and South Korea for planning an annual military exercise expected next month saying its goal is to attack the North.

Pyongyang’s state-run broadcaster, Chosun Central TV, announced the new joint-military exercises are "complete and thorough practices aiming to attack North Korea."

It is the first time South Korea and the U.S. are conducting a joint-military practice this year. The exercise named ‘Key Resolve’ was titled Reception Staging Onward Movement and Integration.

The two sides informed North Korea of the scheduled military exercise last Friday.

The exercise will be carried out from March 2 to 7. Only commanding officers from the Army Corps will join from the South Korean forces, while six-thousand from the U.S. mainland and 12-thousand from U.S. Forces Korea will take part in the exercise.

A 93-thousand ton air crafter will also be used in the practice.

The two allies explained the joint-exercise aims to enhance South Korea’s defense capabilities.
