The founder and chairman of the now-dismantled Daewoo Group may return home this year after three years on the run.
Kim Woo-choong has recently sent a letter to a Korean newspaper expressing his intention to return as soon as ongoing trials involving other Daewoo executives are finished.
Prosecutors had issued an arrest warrant for the tycoon on embezzlement and other charges. Kim has reportedly been hiding overseas since October 19-99.
Daewoo, once Korea's second largest conglomerate, collapsed in July of that year under an 80-billion-dollar debt.
