A new committee will provide comprehensive consultation on the preservation and utilization of natural resources on Jeju Island.

The Jeju World Natural Heritage Committee to be launched Friday comprised of 24 domestic and foreign experts and officials from the Environment Ministry, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korean branch of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

The body will have five subcommittees pushing for projects in the areas of academic research, preservation of natural resources, marketing strategy, education and regional cooperation.
